DTI Foundation creates the IDOTCOVID international open access database

Thanks to its global network of collaborators, the DTI Foundation –based in the Barcelona Science Park– has created the International Database on Organ Donation and Transplantation COVID-19 (IDOTCOVID) with the collaboration of the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) -Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and with the endorsement of the IRODaT registry and the LIDOBS observatory.

The International Database on Organ donation and Transplantation–COVID19 (IDOTCOVID) has been designed, on behalf of the DTI Foundation –headed by Martí Manyalich, lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona (UB)–, the IDIBAPS-Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, the IRODaT registry and the LIDOBS observatory.

The IDOTCOVID is an open-access and available in real time to all collaborating centres to provide a global perspective towards the influence of COVID-19 on donation activity and transplant outcomes.

The database tries to collect the demographic, clinical, analytical and therapeutic data of Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) recipients with COVID-19 to provide reliable information, and more importantly, a guide for the management of this population.

A major goal of the IDOTCOVID is the machine learning algorithm to assist the decision making process regarding the treatment alternatives and expected outcomes according to the different approaches worldwide.
